Chang Dingqiu

Lieutenant General Chang Dingqiu is the Deputy Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Department, Central Military Commission. In his earlier career, he served as a pilot, squadron commander, group commander, regiment commander, deputy division commander and division commander in PLA Air Force. He was appointed as the Assistant Chief of Staff of PLA Air Force in 2011, and became the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff of Air Force of Shenyang Military Region in 2013. In 2015, he was the Deputy Commander of Southern Theater Command, before assuming his current position in 2017. In September 2013, he was promoted to Major General and he was promoted to Lieutenant General in July 2018.
